Outdoor
We take pride in our outdoor provisions at Little Candlewicks. At the door we have an undercover patio area with a mud kitchen, tuff trays, and space to ride the balance bikes. That then leads out onto the grass area where we have our sandpit, slide, pirate ship and decking at the bottom. At the top of the garden we have fruit trees and homegrown veg that we harvest to use in our meals.
Indoor
Indoors we have our resources room, where we keep all of our lovely toys. It's also a fair sized space for the children to play and has lots of sensory items such as the bubbling fish lamp, light table, scent diffuser and textured floor tiles. This is where we have our seasonal and topical display boards for the children to look at. In the living room we have toys for our younger children, baskets of our favourite books and books relating to that months topic for the children to look at whenever they want. And the dining room is used for eating, crafts, cookery and games/puzzles.
Cookery
The kids love when we do cookery, whether it's sweet or savoury they enjoy getting stuck in and trying it once they've finished.
Trips
We have lots of fun on our trips, whether it's a walk to the local park or going further a feild to learn about our monthly topic. Recently we've been to places like Castles, Roman ruins, manor houses, the theatre and soft play.
Other Stuff
Other things we do in setting include geography, looking at a different country each month and we learn about their culture and try some of their food. We also do gardening, arts and crafts, music, IT, dress up and learning how to use tools.
